This is a battle royale, what matter is who survives the longest. Killing other players help, but it's not the end all be all.

I'd rather have a team-player with 0.7 KDR than the IRL version of Bakugo rushing in and getting killed in a 3v1.

Also, a KDR of 1 is average, anything over that (which I assume you have since you regularly score 4 to 5k games) is by definition "above average"
