sorry for the late, but here’s the thing: once you jump while wallrunning, you have like 2-3 seconds to quickly press her beta lightly otherwise it’s not gonna do, I do alpha then beta everytime I do this, it can still work even if you are moving your joystick, all she needs is a extra boost that’s given from a wallrun so it can work.

Also you can do it even without wallrunning, just sprint, jump and press beta lightly, and do not hold it, it sligtly gives you any right, left, front, back movement speed.

ok guys I finally figured it out (mostly)

that zoop appears when you start inputting a direction right before the beta

also using alpha seems to make the game not check if a direction is held or something, cause if you do a superjump, alpha then start holding a direction during it, then beta immediately after the game will also give you the zoop, so doing it with an alpha might even be easier

actually nvm I don't think alpha does that

I just think I already had it in muscle memory when starting to add the alpha idk

but my step for reproducing would be

1. do the superjump

2. don't hold any direction (at least not right before the zoop, in between you can do whatever you want)

3. input a direction and beta right after

but sometimes it even works when completely disregarding those rules and just holding the direction all the way, esp. when using alpha

I still don't understand it ngl but now I can do it most of the time

I'm still not consistent enough to do it in games, but I'm probably at around 60% or more success rate now

OKAY disregard everthing I said again, none of what I said matters

the only thing that actually matters is how short you are holding the beta, aparrently I just held it extra short in those scenarios

Man nejires'melee is really slept on . I did some like rapid fire 1 1 1 1 no pause just all in quick succession, on a cornered opponent. Like when you hit 1 1 from the air it was like that.

I'm always super down to talk and help, just know that I'm not a main of hers, if anything quite the opposite, I barely play her 😭
for example I only recently started doing the beta/gamma to special action cancels, but if there's stuff you can learn from me I'm super down to have a chat, and I might learn something myself in return

maybe, nejire's manual melee cancel is also one of the easiest, perhaps the easiest (it's the only character that I'd be willing to try for melee cancels with in actual matches). So maybe you did that on accident. To do a manual melee cancel you need to start the melee chain without any direction input (no wasd or joystick movement), then you need to use your second melee towards the end of the possible timeframe (shortly before it would reset back to another first melee, and then during the second melee you can use directional input at any moment to stop the animation immediately, at which point you can start another first melee for a true 12 123. But I think the same can happen at ledges where elevation drops so that is probably more likely.

alpha is a multi hitting move with each wave part being 30 damage at level 9 for 70 downpower each, so you could hit two for 60 damage after a 1-2 1-2, if you mean just 1-2 then alpha or 1-2-3 into alpha (idk if that's possible I don't play this character), then I'd need to check

melee 3 is 75 damage for reference

hmmmmmmm, sooooo. from what I can tell you can do 1-2-3 into alpha if and only if you do the melee cancel, and if you do the damage is lower with no tuning until alpha level 4

at alpha level 4, 1-2 1-2-3 and 1-2-3 alpha are exactly equal, then at higher levels the alpha variant becomes stronger

as for 1-2 1-2 alpha that's just 25 less damage than 1-2-3 alpha

all of this no tuning

melee is 6 damage more at level 1, alpha is 10 damage more at level 9, they are equal at level 4

so not a big difference overall but good objection

also one uses an alpha ig the other does not

It took me a bit to get used to don’t worry. Try to think of it as just waiting a second before your second melee instead of waiting until you’re about to reset back to melee one it helped me to stop overthinking it

idk to me nejire is the one I can get consistent enough to where I'd be willing to try in matches. To me it generally helps figuring out when a melee resets and then pressing slightly before it does, but as pneulysta said for nejire specifically just waiting that little bit can work too and I tend to do that too. Have you gotten successful attempts already or none yet? If none make sure there's absolutely no movement before hitting the first melee, else it's probably the timing yeah, it's the timing for me that kills most my melee cancel attempts on other characters but hers is the most intuitive to me, cause it's one of the fastest

for reference I haven't done tamaki's melee cancel in ages

but I'm pretty sure I hit it when labbing him

you unlock the melee cancel by max delaying your second melee, it would be intuitive that you'd need to delay all melees/all further melees too but in fact the timeframe you have for 3rd melee onward is very short, so you actually gotta be super quick after the second one but you retain the melee cancel

Because my guess would be because she had good air time and mobility like a Rapid, but she traverses the air a lot slower than Rapids, making her a lot easier to hit out the air.

Erm you guys how do you play nejire in this season because I feel unsafe and targeted wherever I go, if I stay in the air I get so easily sniped and now with rapid dekus aimbot homing gammas it's impossible to escape, when I am on the ground the ground characters destroy me

ok after further testing I see how I did 1 1 1 1 fast melee in a quick succession. When a player is near a wall, there is a chance for air melee to trigger two times. So I did that with ground melee

tried out nejire with acceleration

it's a really fun combination

her alphas get even faster (i think) and her airdashes give you a lot of momentum at the end with acceleration
