Ok, so, I despise Nejire as a character. She suffers from a lot of similar issues to the writing of mha women, except somehow worse in some categories. She's supposed to be "bubbly" and "curious" but we have Ochaco and Midoriya respectively to fill those roles. She's also written to be ungodly dumb just for the sake of it, and I just hate characters that can be easily boiled down to "Stupid but attractive." I think her costume and quirk are boring, I hate her vocies (so don't tell me to switch to dub/sub) It's so annoying hearing her grating voice start every sentence with "Hey Hey" and end it with "K" or "Okay!" There's also the matter of, she was introduced in season 4 of the anime. We didn't get a backstory until season 7, and her big reveal was that she got called weird ONCE in middle school, and decided to have a full mental shut down and become quiet. Really, bullied in middle school? So were a lot of us, you are not special. This is just a condensed, and nicer, version of a much longer hate rant ab this character

Okay first of all, her bubbly personality isn’t classical and is more distinctly linked towards curiosity hence why she always asks so many questions.

Nejire’s hyperactive personality is a byproduct of her quirk. For example, toga’s ability to transform by drinking blood made her drawn to blood, but in Nejire’s case, her quirk revolves around her own vitality and energy, thus, she’s very ‘energetic’

Saying she’s dumb is a heavy stereotype and mischaracterisation, she’s hyperactive and curious, not stupid, not once is she portrayed as stupid. As a matter of fact, she’s portrayed as having an above average intelligence and wit as a member of the big three, who have the best grades and performance in the school. She’s actually very smart and considerate, she asks questions about everything and reads between the lines, being an attentive and analytical individual, this reflects more in battles when she makes thought-out judgements etc.

As for the real world comparison of Nejire’s backstory, she can be alluded to the complexities of being neurodivergent or having mental issues, I for one feel a link to her character this way as someone with similar issues. Her behaviours and experiences even point towards her being like a person with ADHD.

But within the narrative, the MHA world is very judgemental, Izuku was bullied for having no quirk, whereas Nejire was shunned and bullied for having a quirk that was much better than most. This presents a heinous and unfair society, wherein most people will experience a struggle for their personalities and traits no matter what.

She did not get ‘bullied once’, what we saw in her backstory was one instance of this towards the start of her time at middle school, where she appears to be 11-13. She was ostracised and outcasted for many years, her personality shifting as a dire result, as seen when she’s 15 years old at U.A, quiet and reserved as a consequence for how she was mistreated and opressed for so many years.

So yes, Nejire is as a matter of fact, special. Special in what others perceive to be a bad way, special in a manner that allows others to point fingers at her and single her out, you can’t just affiliate that with everyone’s life because that just isn’t true.

Nejire was rejected by those around her for years, from what we know she made no friends in middle school and her entire personality as a whole was chained away.

I think she’s a fairly interesting character with in depth writing choices made to flesh her and her abilities out, and goes to show how the overarching narrative of MHA, society, affects different kinds of people.

Yuyu has only a few scenes in general, and every single one of them links back to nejire, she has some of her own individual scenes in the novel tho

On its own, you could argue that nejire doesn’t display an equal level of attraction back, but that’s because she’s an airheaded individual in general, not very flirty, but when you combine the fact that yuyu likes her with the fact that nejire has her OWN lesbian symbolism through the lily motif, then you can do the math

It’s clear what the narrative intention is

I also feel it’s important to note that in every scene where yuyu and nejire are together, nejire is in the focus within the story. Agreed lol Saved for Nejire since the start of this game's release after the leaks, and there's REALLLLY not much to say. There's basically no combos for her and everything she does is pretty straight forward. You either hit or you don't.

There is only so much I can tell you, but try to distance yourself and if possible stay on the ground and dodge and roll things if the air isnt working out

and throw your alphas and maybe betas

and go back in the air when u feel its safe to go back up

otherwise you are a flying dummy with free hits

At the beginning i tuned for beta. But its always empty and trashy

Than i tuned 3 slots for alpha. But k always miss 60%

It's better to be on the floor where you can roll very often

It can help her utilise cover better

Give her different playstyles and probably gives her more team combos

And even defensive capabilities bc the gamma knocks down

I wanted nejire forever but her playstyle was just so brain numbing it made me not play her till after she got nerfed

with a gamma mixed in maybe

coulda kept the knockdown values on it though

The nerfs weren't really that well thought out and if ppl just want to play op character than they can pickup all might iida or twice either of the shotos strike denki red deku

With how rapid dominant and redku the meta was upon her being good it was at the very least it was nice having a character that could fight back against it
