How do you get air melee to hit like that? Whenever I try it I just zoom past them so I usually try to close the gap while doing ads Alpha or rolling but that looks more fun and looks cooler

you just melee while you are midflight with that you can do quick air dashes with it but its takes 20% of your special action to do

If you practice it enough you can time it well

to either close gap but you can also do it side to side if you jump - dash + right/left + melee

for an instant boost

better to strafe than to go straight forward

unless they are just rolling alot you can use it to close gap and get a quick melee pick

Ok, so, here's part of a heavy W.I.P. Hawks guide I'm slowly chippin away at

Level Routes:
These are the general level routes I tend to take with Hawks and have found the most success with.
A4 > B4 > G9 > A9 > B9
A9 > G9 > B9
B4 > A4 > G9 > A9 > B9

Combos:
Hawks has a good number of combos that deal devastating damage.

B > B
M1 > M1 > M1(1) > G > G (HP)
M1 > M1 > M1(1) > B > B (GP/HP)
M1 > M1 > M1(1) > G > A > B (HP)

Gameplan:
With this bird, you can play in a few different ways. You can very easily be in their face, get a combo off, and then leave. Keep in mind, these styles are not definitive ways to play the character. These are simply suggestions and can be swapped between mid fight.

Mama Hawks:
Focus on staying with your team. Keep an eye on their hp. If their shield breaks, then drop everything and fly to them. With this type of style, I’d recommend Kota Finder.

Bird of Prey:
Play hyper-aggressive. Keep on an enemy, isolate them, and beat them down. For this style, I’d recommend either Embrittlement or Sisterly Disposition.

Too Slow:
Play like a typical rapid. Hit and run. Fly in, combo, get out. For this style, I’d recommend Sisterly Disposition to allow you to do a melee combo and escape while taking much less damage.

As well, be sure to use your special during fights to reposition fast. Specifically special > air melee

The main issue with willpower is just how you're put in hard knockdown with 1 HP. Sure, you endured the hit, but are you actually going to escape the person who got you that low?

Revenge Rapid triggers a rapid card effect on guard break (lvl 11 lasts 20 seconds). Wall runner will let you naturally run up walls like Iida (lasts up to 20 minutes at level 11, but 10 is sufficient).

Running up walls is nice, but the fact it's always on is irritating to put up with and can get you into trouble as much as it saves you

honesty it was kinda light work for me as a hawks main

I wasnt even paying attention to my kos and damage until i downed the last kendo and saw i had 9kos

I think i killed 2 full teams by myself in that game honesty

I only had 3 kills stolen from me as well

There's zero point trying to improve the alpha for Hawks IMO

Maybe like the Tech Kaminari perk only, but afterward it's just too much effort to increase the damage when the feathers do like 10 damage at level 1.

Focusing on enhancing your beta or gamma is far more useful since those are your actual damage dealers
