tbh there are so many options, for a while now I've been absolutely RUSHING level 7 gamma (with possibly topping off alpha/beta to level 4 if red cards get me close) which I absolutely love for the extra rocks and big rock damage, but I'm def noticing the lack of ammo on alpha/beta hurts a lot

so I'm probably gonna be trying to prioritize them more and see how that goes for me

tbh both kiris I have gone on such JOURNEYS with

assault kiri I went the full circuit on "prioritize gamma for damage, no alpha for mobility, no beta for BOTH" and then red drive I'm still in the MIDST of discovering what works for my playstyle but I've gotta say. I love them boulders

red drive esp is so versatile that there's so much to aim for

alpha level 4 makes your schmovement better, gamma levels 4 and 7 get you extra boulders, I don't actually have beta's upgrades memorized wow I need to study up

alpha

• damage at all levels
• reload speed, size, and ammo up at level 4 and 9
  beta
• damage at all levels
• reload speed, damage area, and ammo up at level 4 and 9
  gamma
• damage at all levels
• ammo and size up at level 4
• ammo up at level 7
• size up at level 9

so those 4s are good to hit on all moves

I swear I will slowly memorize red drive (says guy who doesn't even use his shield properly all the time)

iirc those don't really combine in any specific way, moon jump is for standing vertical jumps (i.e. not moving) while nejire jump will affect the rest of your kit as normal

I've recently been a fan of prioritizing all level 4s on red drive first just to get ammo boosts across the board (I am ALLERGIC to running out of quirk skills in a fight) after which I prioritize level 7 gamma, then max beta, max gamma, max alpha

as for the first level 4 rush, I just kinda hoard level cards and see what red cards look like and try to maximize efficiency to get 2 or 3 skills to level 4 - but in a vacuum I'd prioritize gamma>beta>alpha

it's heavily fight style dependent tho, I'm obsessed with being up close and personal then using schmovement to escape a dangerous situation so all the level 4s matter to me

• His movement is limited mostly to touching the ground, and the Alpha into Beta movement thing depletes his Beta and has NO proper control after launch so using it to flee a fight can be iffy
• His shield means nothing to characters that can hit from beneath/behind (most of the current top characters)
• His Gamma is so comically easy to dodge, its ONLY use is sniping escaping aerial characters (it's their fault for getting in the air knowing the Kiri has Gammes)
• Hardening is walled by nearly EVERYTHING, even grabs like Aizawa, Shinso, and Assault Deku. The ONLY major use is bypassing Electrification. Other than that, few characters exist that CAN'T turn off Hardening
• He has little combo potential compared to other characters that aren't just some variant of "Alpha -> Beta" or "Alpha -> Gamma", and playing with him is genuinely as uncreative as putting a splatter of paint on a wall and calling it art.

He's Assault Kiri with a shield and a mid-tier ranged move

The ONLY reason some of y'all be losing this hard to Red Drive is because you cannot play around it or just adamantly refuse to change up your style to fight him

for sure, tbh the way I tell people to do it is start by hitting beta the MOMENT you release alpha. this won't work, because you're not supposed to do it that fast. but if you keep doing it a little slower every time you'll get a feel for what the window looks like

• His beta glide can get him far and you can just turn around so you dont get hit while going forward. you could also just immediately go into the ground by letting go and if you dont wanna do the slam, cancel it with another alpha so you keep the meter.

• most the people try to escape by going into the air, specially rapids cus mobility. its not cus "its their fault" its cus they wanna escape the fight. so it leaves kiri room to shoot his gamma. either way you can use your gamma in combos

• hardening i can understand but when youre moving all over the place it can be tough for it to just be negated. tho i understand that point

• he has a lot combos/strings...its what makes red kiri so fun cus he can cancel his moves into other moves

i only see one flaw but its technically on both, with it being hardening

• Gamma use in combos only ever works as a combo ender, and as a pure ranged it's just MID

• Yeah Hardening

• Canceling the moves into other moves is often really hard to do cuz the game loves fiddling hitboxes

Also meh, 300 HP is fine for a character built around taking LESS DAMAGE, but that's also a good point

• red kiri has probably the best free flowing movement in this game as a non rapid, has a good amount of control if you know how the tech/animation cancels work. very few characters can catch him
• shield is broken; extremely fast startup, very hard to react to, functional 99% of the time as it should be unlike kendos, very high burst damage; the characters that "ignore his shield" are very underplayed and still get countered by him
• gamma ricochet alone invalidates this dudes "roll" point. gamma is an all-case use move, where are you getting "only use is sniping people" from???
• hardening is fine in context that red kiri doesnt deserve it, its essentially the cherry on top for this variant of kirishima, yellow kirishima HEAVILY needs hardening and red kiri doesnt. all the drawbacks current/post harden nerf from s2/3 literally do not apply to red kirishima who flies and avoids damage as much as possible while applying heavy burst damage
• his combo potential is insane and you just dont know anything about it #Gatekeeping

If you land the first one correctly then the rest will always work. With the exception of very uneven terrain or ledges ofc

and you can always make adjustments to the combo to fit the situation

oh yeah 100% this is the kinda gameplay I pull off when I'm really locked in and manage to make those combos, they're def improvised and usually just two-hits like seen here cause chaining more than two things needs PERFECT timing/spacing it seems like. tho I've been getting used to alpha chains so hopefully can start doing that more soon

tbh I know full well stuff like this is possible, even if it's still rarer for me to take advantage of those airborne frames I'm still only two months into learning him

tbh for me the distinction is more about the longer combos that people will post abt doing in training mode but is kinda too idealized a situation for me to see them in action, those high power two-hit combos that leave you waiting to predict a getup anyways I think paint a better picture of red drive gameplay

personally I just see some dissonance between the training mode clips and actually seeing them used in game so I do seriously appreciate your clip cause those are cool AND more realistic

it's clearly pretty improvised to figure out what can combo in the given situation and you sometimes whiff rocks to i-frames because yeah, sometimes they just hit the ground too fast and it doesn't work out

I'll alpha into anything and I love it, next step for me is locking in on taking advantage of those post-beta air frames

his bread and butter stuff is easy to land such as beta alpha gamma but the chance of landing the beta alpha cancel loops in a game without luck is highly impractical as a lot of things affect it. Beta alpha gamma is great because even if you whiff the alpha the gamma still hits at range

I clutched a 1v7 with only that combo 😆 His solo carry potential is crazy good

Also you can alpha cancel the beta before it does the slam if you see the opponent won't get hit by it to conserve percentage on beta
