Assault: Alpha 9 always, beta or gamma can be maxed in whichever way you prefer tbh, although getting a second black whip at level 9 is massive for escape and repositioning.

I can still drop high kill games, I think I was just on some hardcore copium when the nerfs first happened. It’s by far the most noticeable nerf he’s gotten but I still think he’s very strong.

You just need to be a lot more careful, but you also have a higher chance of getting away from a prolonged chase due to the kick buff making it come back faster. 4 second cooldown at level 9 is pretty fast, especially given the kick’s versatility.

It really isn't as bad as you think, I've hit ace with Assault Deku every season and this season while yes, does sting a bit, you still can very much climb without too much effort. It’s mostly down to your mechanics and knowing where to position yourself in fights.

Alpha max always, then honestly your best bet is to max out gamma for two blackwhips. If you really like the kick it only has a four second cooldown at level 9 so an argument can definitely be made to level it up after alpha too.

The recharge value used in game is when all charges are used but the value used on the database is when 1 charge is used. Since it always uses all charges the devs never updated that value hence the database error

Alpha is what makes the character, it is very weak at first but scales very good with levels and it should always be maxed out before anything else

Then max out your gamma, the benefits may not be so apparent when leveling at first but you get a notable range increase at level 4 and you get a second charge at level 9 which is incredibly useful for escaping fights or giving you a chance to go for a grab and still have an escape option in reserve

Your game plan on Assault Deku is to maximize your range against your opponents with your alphas, the ideal situation is staying outside of their effective range while they’re still in yours.

High ground is your best friend, it allows you to create very favorable situations and is especially useful against low mobility characters. If there isn’t any high ground nearby you can gain temporary height over your opponent by looking straight up and using your beta to kick yourself up into the air. You’re then free to fire down on them and get a few shots in before you return to the ground.

Crouch shot may be a shell of its former self but it’s still useful for picking off retreating targets or unsuspecting enemies from extremely long range. You can also use it on an enemy up close to give you a brief opportunity to use your special action on a downed ally to instantly res them or get out of there.

Its probably worth adding that the crouch shot is still incredibly useful to use if its the last shot in the chamber. If your down to just one shot and your gonna shoot it anyway 90% of the time its better to crouch for the last shot as you get more dmg as well as knocking the opponent away from you while you reposition with beta and gamma

Sometimes it can be bad to do tho like if your being targeted by several players the end lag on crouch shot may not be favorable

Came out at s3
S4 during afo patch he was buffed to get 6 alphas instead of 5 at levels 1-3 and gamma got its 2nd charge at all levels.
S5 he got +50 hp.
Gamma hold works faster and goes higher.
Beta finally gets more dmg with height and it became significantly easier to achive said hight.
And i believe he recived armor on pickup rez during that update too. I think thats it outside of shadow changes

Nah, I played him very good even before the buffs he was just special but still able to reck ppl (he already had very good damage, he was just slow) so either a speed nerf or a health nerf or nerf the alpha but not all at the same time

It’s not for nothing he’s considered the second best character of the game (number 1 spot stolen by hawks)

Was he weaker than assault ? Yes but mostly bcz assault was busted, old full bullet would be comparable to actual assault

Im gonna have to disagree here. Old strike deku had lits of issues that were big problems. However when i say old i mean ler combo game discovery. With the combos he has now he would've been fine but there were some major issues he had that i feel are worth mentioning.

Early game was bad and late game didn't feel like enough of a reward to make up for it. His gamma and beta used to both only get 1 charge at lv1-3 and with how his alpha scaled you basically needed 444 to be viable at all.

2nd, betas max shockwave was horrendous. I mean it was still huge but in order to get it you needed to be on top of like ua or do a gamma off the top of shopping mall. Actually achieving max shockwave requred you to be so high up that it was basically never worth doing as your nore than likley gonna miss it when the people below you rotate or kite away.

3, his dmg. With exception of alpha all his skills felt like they lacked oomph for what was a low mobility character. This would've been fixed in time with the discovery of the combo game he has but at the time he didn't hit hard enough to justify such a liability in fights.

Some people at the time would make comparisons to ibara and honestly it made sense. Ibara has a incredible alpha that does more per shot than fb and has more range. Additionally ibara beta also was a large aoe that did lots of dmg. Except jbara had super armor on beta so she could more reliably get that dmg. Finally gamma, ibara doesn't have a exact replacement for fb gamma as ibara has no mobility but old fb gamma was so bad for mobility that he would almost never want to use it that way anyway in fights atleast. Additionally ibaras gamma is much better at bypassing gp than fb beta was. This combined with ibaras instant revive over fbs meh revive and ibara having 100 more hp ment in most situations ibara was just better. At the time ibara wasn't even considered very good often being on the lower end of tier lists so what does that mean for fb

Tldr strike deku before the combo discoveries was genuinely bad having dmg worse than a lot of the case except for his alpha. It felt like his kit was built around having good mobility but his gamma was so bad this wasn't the case and if he had remained the same he would've likley ended up as a combo focused kiri that has to work way harder for his dmg than kiri does. Was he over buffed yes but even as his number 1 fan i can admit that old fb was in a very rough place

I mained the character since he came out and even i can admit he had major issues that any good player would abuse to no end. Beating anyone that was good at the game was a huge challenge on fb and while he would be fine now with his old stats thats only for people who learned his combo game and in that sense hed be a mix of kendo and aziawa with worse results than learning either of those 2.

With the combos on his old moveset hes maybe low A at best

If I remember correctly old beta did 50 in grab and 140 or 160 on impact, I liked it

Afo update he got +1 alpha charge at lvs 1-3 and + 1 gamma at lvs 1-3 putting him at 2 gammas always.

Then i believe it was s5 the next buff happened where all of this happened.
Hp increased to 350 (personally valid for a frontline with lots of endlag but with the other buffs wasn't necessary)
Beta made it easier to reach a max hight beta shockwave so now you can do it of raw gamma.
Beta also now does increased dmg for hight. (Used to always do 50 heel and 140 but got increased to 50 heel and 140 + 10 for each stage of hight you have up to a max of 160)
Gamma now goes much higher and you jump faster (this change toght here is why he became meta as instead of being a worse ibara with very meh mobility he instead became a slightly worse ibara that suddenly could move as fast as all might.)

Beta never recived a rework. Instead they made using beta from high up actually viable which i think was a good change. Before using air beta was basically never useful but after it suddenly became quite good to do

For Red izuku: I personally just shoot ppl all the time and try to catch their wake up with gamma if I’m close enough, with the alpha damage they don’t last for too long

I think it’s an ok route, bcz with two gammas early you can deal with the blue meta better, tho I have to admit I’d hate to have bad alphas for so long

@final ruin so basically for red deku. Do alpha max, beta next, then gamma, but if you wanna do alpha 4, beta 4. Then that's fine too. Tips for fb are against rapids wait for them to come to you then gamma to counter them, for playstyle your gonna wanna gamma jump and spray down with alpha or do a beta. You can be aggressive with deku so don't be afraid.

Also canceling beta with gamma to catch people off guard

i do a9 b4 g4 b9 g9. i use gamma more than i use beta (for damage) so more gamma range (two walls at g4) at lvl 4 will help me do double gamma combos

or just hit it in general

but i wanna take it to an extent and do a9 b4 g9 b9. maybe a third wall will help me be able to do lots of gamma combos

I personally prefer beta 4 for the 2nd charge and then alpha max cuz 110 go burr. After that i believe any path could be valid. Personally i get gamma to 4 as the extra size is nice but i dont see much value in gamma levels beyond 4 so ill switch back to beta after that.
