"xbox play anywhere (except xyz)" Issues with how games are listed

Hi folks so I am searhing for games to play with someone who has an xbox one, I have a pc, we realised we can look at xbox play anywhere and a good chunk of those titles has crossplatform, one that came up was arc raiders, it allowed us to buy the game on xbox one however, surely enough, it didnt let us play it because xbox one doesnt support it. So is it really "play anywhere"? seems like such a useless search function if it isnt true to itself, its put me off buying games at all to test because what if it doesnt run on the xbox one?

If anyone has any lists of games that I can play on xbox ONE and pc together please shoot them my way itd be greatly appreciated!

Play Anywhere means it can play on XBox and PC, not that it can play on ALL consoles. Arc Raiders is Series only, as are most newer games.

It literally tells you on the store page where it is playable, so it's not listed incorrectly, you simply didn't read the "Playable On" section.

What you need to look for is games that support cross platfrm.

I mean fair but that doesnt sound like what the word anywhere would suggest but fair enough, still ridiculous it lets you buy it on a console you cant play it on

with how the microsoft store is I do that and I get series x and s games that are cross platform and I run into the issue of not being able to launch em on the one

If it says Series S/X, it's not playable on the One.

You may have to just Google. I don't think the store actually lists if they're cross-platform

The store should also tell you that it's not playable on your console...It did for me when I owned the One and went to buy a game that wasn't compatible.
