#Series S LAG SPIKES

I am hoping the Xbox community can help me or atleast diagnose what the problem is.

My Xbox series s is getting severe (literally unplayable online gaming - like teleporting around etc) LAG SPIKES every 2-3 minutes and they can happen for up to 10-15 seconds at a time.

To be absolutely clear I have a ps5, gaming pc, quest 3, switch 2, wiiu, 3ds TO NONE OF WHICH have any disconnection issues or lag spike issues.

It’s so bad that I’ve had to return to my Xbox one.

Connection test says signal is 100% with download of 50mbps and upload 10mbps and ping is 19ms.

What on earth is happening with my series s??

#

okay its very likley a NAT issue if you have 2 consoles, thats not really a easy thing to help you with. If you check your NAT type on both they should be open if one of them is closed or moderate then thats the issue.

grave dune
#

How to check

true hinge
#

Also it could be that you just have to many devices connected to the same wifi channel and it can not cope

#

you can check your BNAT type in network settings on your xbox

grave dune
#

Series s is moderate

#

Xbox one is strict

#

What can I do? Is this definitely that’s causing the series s to lag spike?

#

I just cleared the MAC address now it’s saying OPEN

true hinge
grave dune
#

So I’ve got my Xbox series s to say open Nat type

#

Should I retest the online connection for games

#

See if I run into anymore issues

true hinge
#

This isnt somthing we can help with you need 9 fillow that guide or contact your provider

grave dune
#

What do u think it could be if I continue to lag spike every couple minutes?

#

I’ve fixed the connection the nat type says open now instead of moderate

#

So if I play some online games now and it continues to lag spike what do you think it could be? Overheating or damaged wifi/network chip?

true hinge
#

It wont be anything like that if the console over heats it will tell you and shut down. It could be many things causing it and it might be out of your control.

grave dune
#

Okay thank you for your help I appreciate it

After plugging in Ethernet the issue was fixed

#

I think my Xbox series s has a damaged WiFi/network card
