I got an older call of duty edition Astro a20 wireless headset I’ve been using for years. It’s in decent shape all the buttons still work but I grabbed them after a few months of not using them and I can’t adjust the chat mixer at all on my headset or through the Xbox Home Screen, I’ve fully reset my Xbox and made sure everything was hooked up properly, I even cleaned all of the plugs with electronic cleaner and nothing has worked. how can this be fixed?

I’m using an old Xbox one, the first model, with an older COD edition a20 headset, I tried basically all I could think of in terms of something not being plugged in correctly or poor connection, did some research about the problem but everything led me back to “just the the button on the headset” but they aren’t doing it either, I know the buttons work because I hear the tone it plays when it hits maximum or minimum volume but it does not change the mixer on my Xbox, it won’t even give me the option to change it manually wit the controller, I’ve not found any error codes either

Idk what it’s called but there is some weird thin wire that runs from the headset receiver to the back of the Xbox

Yes it is but it doesn’t actually change anything but the buttons do work
