Xbox controller not connecting to fc26

[balmy estuary]

When I start up fc26, it starts windowed. If I even click on it or use my mouse, my controller will only work in the menus but not in game. Also, my laptop runs fc26 in slow motion despite being over the required specs limit. How can I start fc26 in full screen
