When the xbox is unplugged from ethernet it connects to the WiFi fine but as soon as I plug it into the ethernet. It cannot connect to the WiFi, was working fine and suddenly broke

Have you checked the Ethernet cables condition and made sure it's connected to your modem
Check the cables rubber jacket and both connectors to make sure that there is no damage
