#Accessing save files on a USB drive?

Something horrible happened a while ago when I upgraded my Xbox 360 Elite to an E (cause it broke)... As I was transferring the save files and everything (only really care about the save files for a few games) via the USB method, I accidently nudged the console I was transferring from a bit. I should have stayed away, it was almost done! Then it either finished or it froze, can't remember now since it's actually been over 2 months. I then continues the process but the E doesn't recognize the USB drive, and when I put it in to my PC it recognizes it as a CD drive... They are not on the old console and not on the new, this has never happened to me, where I lost a whole console's save files. And no I did not have cloud saves on, for some reason I couldn't do it before but can now on my E.

I lost the saves of several Guitar Hero, The Evil Within, RDR, RE5, Fable 2 and Mirror's Edge... love all those games and just hurts a lot to lose those digital memorabilia. If there's no way to get them back then I guess I have some great games to reply... but it's not the same, thinking about my dog in Fable 2 and the scores in The Mercenaries of RE5 and GH.

So does anyone know if there's any kind of software I can use to access the files on the USB drive and then is there anyway to restore them on to either of the consoles. =' (

Your post is a little confusing

If you want to transfer save files from one xbox 360 console to a other. You just upload them to the cloud i no idea why your talking about usb or pluging that into a pc

#

I no idea what you did but from what you said it sounds like they delated/gone.

I bought a new XB360, I wanted to transfer saves, I used USB method (because I couldnt upload to cloud for some reason and why not), while I was transferring from old XB to USB I bumped it and it froze (or showed error, cant remember), then files were gone from old XB, USB drive doesnt show up on new XB, I plug in to PC to see if I can see any files at all, it shows up as an external CD/DVD drive that I cant open... result: very sad for losing save files. question: any way I can access the files on PC and maybe make it recognizeable to my Xbox?

it seems like a flawed system where it doesnt back up before finishing. it should only delete once the process is complete to prevent this... pretty sure Windows does that.

Did u use a fat32 formatted flash drive

marble tinsel

yes

#

dont remember if that was the exact format but I followed Microsoft's instructions.

#

but dont think wrong format should cause this, it shouldnt even work then.

use data recovery software on ur usb stick on ur pc. ull probably get some but not all saves.

but then it also would have to be formatted in a way that the XB will accept... but I will try whatever I can. T_T
