I've done it a lot. Usually I get them within 5-10 minutes, but I have had a couple of times where it's taken hours, even the next day

Keep in mind those, Xbox gift cards aren't sent as codes. They automatically deposit the amount in your account
Yeah. They should still send an email to let you know they did it.
