If you don’t answer these, you might not get a response.
Does it do it only when you try to launch or while playing the game?
While playing, after like 30-45 minutes of game time it’ll completely shut down
What does it do when you try to play other games?
Certain games nothing, Forza and Motorfest and even new call of duty games it acts fine with no issues. I’ve been playing the dead space remake recently though and I can’t go 30 minutes without my Xbox completely shutting down
Hum that's interesting a crash shutdown. It could be a overheating issue or the game needs to be reinstalled. Try reinstalling the game.
I just did recently, I played it back in 2023 and had the same issue then. And starting it back up now it’s the same as it was
I had uninstalled it because I got tired of the crashing LOL
The main games this is an issue with is dead space, madden, doom dark ages
Mostly kinda new x/s games
That take a lot of power im guessing to run so it might be a power supply issue
Which I hope it isn’t
Oh ok humm... Hopefully if there is a problem it's the power supply because a power supply can be easily replaced. Worst case could be overheating due to either damage to your heatsinks or the thermal paste between the processor and the heat sinks but if it was that it would be more widespread and more frequent.
It could just be age too, I’ve had this series x since release in 2020
And it’s been heavily used
Oh man 6 years yeah there could be something going bad
I’m just hoping this doesn’t happen with resident evil on Friday 💀
But it's more likely to be the game because I believe the dead space remake is known to cause crashing. I'll look it up.
If I could get it on film I would, but it’s random and I don’t have a camera to record my tv for an extended period
But even then considering the age of the console it may just need to be cleaned
But it’ll literally just flash green and completely shut the xbox down
I use an air can all the time on it, clean the top and bottom out
Unless I gotta be doing more
The screen flashes green
Let me see if I can find a video brb
Um that I can't discuss here but it may or may not be necessary.
Ok
That’s fine
Ok nice save on that by the way not many would've thought to record that I will look more into it in a moment
I'm just getting off work. I will look into it when I get home
That’s fine I’m gonna head to bed, it’s almost 1 am for me lol
alright man in the mean time i will look into your problem and maybe provide some ansers by tommorow.
Thank you 🙏 🙏
may have some answers for you bud
Lay em on me brotha, im at work so I might not see or respond right away but im here
have you ever replaced your internal ssd?
Nope I’ve not messed with it since I got it 6 years ago besides cleaning
according to user reports from reddit and other sources the dead space remake is known to have problems with frame rate in some areas and severe crashing on Xbox S/X.
so it could be the game but it dosnt explain issues with other games unless they are also known to have similar issues.
Far as I know madden actually had it worse. Last time my friend came over he couldn’t even get passed the main menu without my Xbox shutting down
But dead space is a really close second
interesting
But I also have the dead space remake installed on an Xbox ssd and not actual internal storage
If that makes a difference at all
according to the research iv done with a possible power supply issue. it can make buzzing or clicking noises when its starting to go bad have you heard any weird noises that fit this criteria.
Not that I know of, I know my disc drive acts up sometimes but most of my games are downloaded straight to the console
Not a clicking or buzzing anyway
have you tried a hard restart of your xbox by holding down the power button for 30 secs then unplugging for secs then turning it back on.
Yep I’ve done everything but a full console reset
Mainly because I have like 80 games installed and I don’t wanna download 3+ terabytes of games 💀
I can try again when I get home to be safe, In case I didn’t do it right
But that’ll take me 5 hours from now
yeah i understand got quite a large library myself but a full reset of your console without deleting all your games and apps may be the best option because this could just be junk data and corrupted files causing the problem since its other games doing the same thing.
Possibly, was that an option?
I saw full console and one that deleted save data
I didn’t wanna do save data in case I lose all my progress on certain games with limited time stuff
yeah when you attempt to fully reset your console it will give you 2 options "remove everything" and "keep all my games and apps" select the "keep all my games and apps" option. when this is done it will get rid of most data that may have been causing the issue.
Alright I will try a soft reset like you mentioned when I get home and if I crash again after that I’ll do a full reset and lyk
I just want my console working again I don’t wanna get resident evil Friday and have my experience ruined 😂
yeah i understand hopefully this will fix your problem if not contact me.
Will do thank you soldier I appreciate you 🫡
yes sir. one more question have your xbox had any issues starting up?
Nope, starts up like normal
