#My Xbox won’t output Microphone audio

I’ve been dealing with this issue for over a year at this point and can’t find anyone with a solution. My Xbox randomly stopped allowing my microphone on ANY headset to output audio to parties, game chat, or discord calls. It’s not the controller, since I use a Steelseries Arctics 7x and have tried using different controllers to no success. It’s not the headset, since it works perfectly fine on my brother’s Series X, and I’ve tried different headsets on my console and they all have the same issue. It’s not any parental settings, since my account with my headset and everything work fine on other Xbox’s. I’ve contacted Xbox support, but their service people aren’t amazing and proved no solutions that I’ve already tried.

Please Help

Does your gamerpic light up when in a party chat and your talking?

Is your headset connecting to your xbox or will it not connect ?

So audio workes ?

#

Do you mean you can hear others but they can not hear you?

burnt idol
#

Yes

#

It’s an Xbox side issue tho, since I’ve tried using different headsets and they have the same issue on the Xbox

My party chat workes fine and u mentioned it workes on your brothers xbox so i doubt its an xbox party issue or headset issue. I would check your audio settings maybe factery reset your xbox keeping my games and apps to reset defaults

I’ve checked almost all the audio setting, but unfortunately most of them don’t have anything to do with microphones

slow leaf
#

And you checked your not muted

burnt idol
#

Yup

#

Wish that was the case

Then i no idea

I’ve seen no one online have this issue, and it’s frustrating

Is there anything in the jac that can be messing it up

You mrntuoned you tried a other controller maybe try a other headset i very much doubt its anything to do with the console itself

burnt idol
#

It’s a wireless headset, so it wouldn’t be a controller issue

#

I’ve tried wired headsets and they also don’t work

#

With multiple different controllers

spark mulch
#

Is there a USB that is connected to it

burnt idol

Well sometimes u have to connect the headset with the wire to hear anything

Ah wait yeah no xbox does not suppprt usb audio ypu have to use 3.5 jack

I have a turtle so I have the same problem

#

But I kind of fixed it by using a USB to C and it worked

I just assumed thats what you were doing since you mentioned you tried a other controller. Use a 3.5mm audio cable to plug the headset into the cintroller

spark mulch
#

Thats where u get adapters

burnt idol
#

The adapter plugs right into the Xbox itself, so that it can do wireless

spark mulch
#

Is it directly connected to the Xbox then

#

By its Bluetooth section

burnt idol
#

Xbox doesn’t allow Bluetooth headphones, so yeah, the adapter plugs into the Xbox through a usb cord and connects the headset to the Xbox

slow leaf
#

Are you using a wireless dongle or are you using a usb cable to connect the headset?

burnt idol
#

Wireless dongle

#

I would post a photo, but it doesn’t allow you to do that in these threads

That should be fine if its a xbox wireless dongle 2.4ghz a usb cable will not work though. If it was me though i would check if the headset has 3.5mm audio jack it should do and use a 3 5mm audio cable to connecr the headset to your controller that should fix the issue.
