hi, it might sound dumb but, ive just bought to change my gamertag and i was just wondering as to why its reverted my name to the first one this account used? ive never done this before and i just dont want it to have been a waste of 8£ is all😭

i bought the gamertag name change
noticed it changed my gamertag to the xbox accounts very first original gamertag
restarted my xbox
and its still the first gamertag and hasnt updated yet
searched it up and it may appear instantly or up to 72 hours
however its changed to the original + the new username at the end
