My issue is specifically with an Xbox series S console and this specific controller's audio jack not playing sounds. It is a series S robot white model and I am not an Xbox Insider.
Issue does not display on PC oddly enough. Audio can be adjusted and works fine there.
A list of troubleshooting everything I have attempted thus far:
- opened the controller and pins are still in contact with PCB
- tested on PC and charges and works fine.
- Tried via bluetooth and audio dropped (expected behaviour)
- updating the firmware via PC using xbox accessories app on windows 11
- changing volume works
- testing on PC and volume works
- Audio still doesn't work in Xbox
- Disabled audio enhancements in the Xbox console's audio tab.
- checked volume settings for the headset in use.
I have heavily researched my issue on the internet, even going so far as looking at the PCB diagram and it appears that it should be working fine but I have 2 less pads on the PCB than other schematics show.
As far as I can tell I should be getting volume output from the controller on my xbox console but it just doesn't do so via my headset.
