Gifted my friend a game. He can't accept and I cant refund

So I gifted my friend gta5 and the code was sent to him however if he tries it just says an error has occurred (not exactly that but basically that)

I tried to refund it but it's not available for refund (he couldn't redeem it)

I've gone to Microsoft support for refunding it and and checking if there's a way he can redeem it and all have turned up empty. Ive tried contacting the web support but that just won't work.

At this point I don't care if my friend gets my money. I just want my money to not disappear like this
