Hey so I bought a second hand Xbox one 2013 500 GB from a game shop and the power supply makes weird humming sounds and randomly makes it at night and it is louder and louder by the day

The Xbox One power supply was notorious for being quite loud, that is normal

#

If you think it is beyond what is reasonable, then the only thing you could do is shop online for another one, if available

#

If it's making noises at night, it's probably because your console is turning on automatically to download and install updates

It may be a problem with the power adapter. The old One had a huge power adapter.You can check if the sound comes from this

But I don’t own an old Xbox one game console, so I can’t help much.

After you turned off your game console, did you turn off the power supply? It would be strange if the power of the socket is turned off and the light is still on.

I just switch my Xbox off wait 10-50 minutes n it norm goes away

sometimes I just switch it off at the power outlet

But it is downloading a game so it could be why

What I mean is, after your power outlet is turned off, does the power adapter still have a light on?

No when I turn power outlet at wall off it goes away and does a switching nose

But when I hold down my controller and select switch off it stays for a while

Xbox has two shutdown modes. One is to shut down through the controller. It is actually in standby mode, allowing you to download games and start the console faster.

The other is called complete shutdown. This function is in the settings.
