Hey everyone! Hoping someone with an Ally can help me here. So after recent updates to my Ally it seems like 80% of the time on reboot AMD Software automatically enables AMD chill which caps my frame rate to 60fps by default. I’m not sure if these are part of the “enhancements” to the Ally to make frame rate locked and stable when possible. However, sometimes I’m not looking for that. I can go into AMD and turn it off, but I have to exit FSE to disable it, then lose the isolated FSE environment.
So my idea was simple I thought. I noticed that AMD offers a keyboard shortcut to toggle AMD chill. So I went into armory crate and set a secondary action for gamepad AND desktop to allow more holding the M secondary buttons and selecting another button to macro alt+f11 (what AMD shows as the keyboard shortcut).
I figured I could boot into FSE mode and if it was on a could use this secondary mapping to simply toggle it off. However, it doesn’t seem to work, and in that I mean using the hotkey does nothing. I have verified the default secondary hotkeys work fine with their default assignments, but for some reason I’m struggling with chill specifically.
I think that’s all the detail needed. Like I said this is an Xbox Ally X with the native FSE. I really started noticing this when they rolled out the custom profiles for games as I don’t have such experience on other AMD handhelds I’ve tested.
Any idea why the hotkey wouldn’t work? Am I missing something? I went into configure control and changed both desktop and gamepad modes for left analog secondary to run alt+f11. I think by default it’s show desktop? The default feature works but after I change the macro it does not. Anyone else with similar issue?
