Official Xbox Wireless Headset mic doesn't work

Have tried re-pairing to Xbox Series S. Paired to my Android phone. Paired to my computer. Reset the paired list on the device, reset the headset completely as per Xbox support guide (hold power, mute, and plug in cable). Checked settings on Xbox. Nothing working. Have tried mic with mute on, off, mixer up and down.

What can I do? How much can I get for this if I sell it without a working mic?! I bought it used off Amazon and didn't get around to testing it until out of the return window ffs.
