Hi i have xbox series S. I bought it from a third party seller and I have had it for like 2 years. Recently during like the past 2-3 months, some of my games have been crashing like a few times per week. Recently during the past 2 weeks it's been worse. The games that crash are big like Genshin Impact or My Hero Ultra Rumble. I've tried restarting my xbox but it doesn't help. My xbox is also up to date.

One thing i've noticed is that my xbox does get pretty hot. I thought it was normal?? Right now it's flat horizontally with the black square at the top. Is it blocking some vents? Is the issue overheating??

Is there anything else I can try/ and or do? I'm guessing games crashing is a common issue? Plz someone help atp i'm pulling my hair out it's drivin me insane slowly.

If the Xbox is overheating, it’ll auto shutdown and show a warning when you turn it back on.

# abstract sorrel yes.... i'm scared

This is what the AI overview said. Your Xbox Series S may be crashing in Genshin Impact due to overheating, software glitches, or a corrupted game installation. To fix this, first ensure the console is properly ventilated, then perform a full restart, clear the console's cache, and if the problem persists, reinstall the game.

# abstract sorrel what is console's cache?

To clear the cache on an Xbox Series S, shut down the console completely, unplug it for at least two minutes, then plug it back in and turn it on. You can also go to Settings > Devices & Connections > Blu-ray > Persistent Storage and select Clear Persistent Storage.

I mean if it's his HDD he might have to replace it...but he did say he got it used so he should check if it was opened before

When the game crashing, turn off the Xbox or does it return to the home dashboard?

You should keep the xbox in an open space

#

So the fans have space, and you could use a microfibre cloth to clean the outside

#

For the games crashing. Try some offline games, like the ones with physical CDs. If they're working fine then its not a hardware issue

#

If the physical games are also crashing, it doesn't necessarily mean its a hardware issue. Don't do anything rash or permanent and wait for an expert or someone who knows whats going on to help you out.

#

And try going on microsoft community forum or look at microsoft help pages

#

Reddit could help with getting an idea of whats happening. But looking to reddit for a diagnosis is like searching online for your health symptons (dr google 😂 )

It might be an issue with the GPU. The console will have to be sent in for repair to diagnose the issue.

Didn't work. I sent a support message to xbox saying: The game "my hero ultra rumble" keeps on crashing on my Xbox series S. By crashing I mean it freezes for a second then just closes and takes me back home. This happens every time I try to play the game. I have a few games on my console, and this is the only game that crashes like this. For example Genshin Impact is more demanding I assume because of its size, and that doesn't crash at all. I have two profiles, it crashes on both. I have done many things. I'll list all of them. Disclaimer: my xbox series S does not have heating issues. It is in an open space in a straight up position with the black circle out in the air with no obstruction. The console gets a little hot but I'm sure that is not the issue. Also I don't think that there's dust or anything inside the console. I've tried restarting the console. I've tried unplugging it for some hours and restarting it again. I've tried reinstalling the game. I've tried deleting then re-adding the profile that I use the most. I tried deleting the game, then deleting the profile, then re-adding the profile then reinstalling the game. I've tried switching wifi connections to another one. My console is up to date and no issues come up. The last option I haven't tried is deleting the data of the game then re-syncing it to the cloud, but I'm scared all the data will be deleted because of the fact that my hero ultra rumble isn't a game in which you have specific accounts. You just play according to what profile on the xbox you are currently on. Please help me fix this. By the way i've had my xbox for almost a year now.
