1 month free PC gamepass?

so i redeemed a gift card for +3 months of PC gamepass, and now it is asking this:

turn on recurring billing for 1 free month? (little switch thing)

By checking the box, you authorize recurring payments. When your subscription and any free period end, we'll charge you $16.49 plus applicable taxes every month (tax amount may be subject to change). You'll be notified before any price changes. Cancel within 30 days after your first charge to receive a refund. i want the free month, but dont want recurring billing (cause the price is more than just buying gift cards), if i turn it on and then just cancel it like tommorow would i still get the free month?
