I bought a screen that supports HDR, but when I go into the Xbox settings, it tells me that the screen does not support HDR. What should I do?

if the xbox is telling you the screen is not HDR thats because the screen isnt been seen has HDR. You likey need to enable it in your TV/Moniter settings

I enable it

#

also note that some screens will not support HDR when other features are enabled such has game mode

deep bane
#

But when i try to use HDR calibration it says to me that my monitor doesn't support HDR

spark pawn
#

will it allow you to check HDR in display settings on your Xbox?

deep bane
#

No

spark pawn
#

are you using a tv or moniter and whats the make and model ?

deep bane
#

Monitor ViewSonic xg2409

spark pawn
#

that should be fine i would check that you do not have game mode enabled and restart your xbox

#

also try turning off Free Sync

deep bane
#

Wait I'll send some pics to you

spark pawn
#

you wont be able to but you can just make sure those settings are turned off.

#

other than that there wouldnt really be anything else has that moniter does support HDR you just need to set it correctly.

deep bane
#

Yeah they are turned off I enable HDR from xbox settings but when I want to use HDR calibrate it says to me that your monitor doesn't support HDR

spark pawn
#

ah okay so you can enable HDR in xbox display settings now? Has you said you couldnt before

deep bane
#

Yeah before i couldn't cuz input settings

#

It was on HDMI but i put it on auto detect

spark pawn
#

has long has you have a check marked in allow HDR in the xbox display settings your all good.

You can click on 4k details in the xbox display settings and it should have a greencheck mark next to HDR 10

deep bane
#

Let me see

#

I have a red mark

#

It says Your TV setup doesn't support HDR for gaming

spark pawn
#

then i think you miss understood when i asked you if you could check allow HDR,

deep bane
#

In the monitor?

#

I allowed it

#

And from xbox settings

#

Too

spark pawn
#

then i not sure what happening but your having the red checkmark because the Monitor is not been seen has HDR by the xbox and that will be because of a setting somewhere either on the display itsself or the xbox likley the display,

#

I would take a look in the manual for the Monitor or see if you can download one from google. Othertahn that i not sure
