Hi, I have a Minecraft account that I migrated to Microsoft in 2022 or something like that, as you should. However, at the beginning of 2024, January, my Microsoft account was hacked - which resulted in me reporting the account as hacked, and then it was locked. I have then tried what I have been told to fill out a form with some questions, or an escalation case, but it has been rejected every time. But it just seems tame, since if an account is hacked, and you haven't really clicked on links or the like, which could be hacked - that you then lose it that way. I had both two-step verification and that on, but the hacker has changed both email, password and two-step verification. Anyone who has had a similar problem, or how?

It's all in my message above.
I'm sorry to hear that but the fact that you had 2 factor means the account can not be recovered, In order for someone to hack your account like that you would have had to know your details including access to your mobile and or email for the 2 factor.
you will need to make a new account
you would have been told this when you did the ASCR and the email advising they locked the account.
But there are others who say you can?
You need to read the email that Microsoft support sent you when they advised they locked the account and also the support page where the form is because that would have advised what i said
the point on 2 factor is that no one can log into your account apart from you so if changes were made they were made by you.
But hackers are getting better and better - and the hacker has gained access to my two-step verification.
thats true but it still does not change the fact you gave your 2 factor to someone
security is only has good has then human if you give out details then the security will not work. Or if you use details that can be easily guessed.
But I just think it's crazy, since I haven't done anything - I just lost access because a random person hacked into my account.
I think it's crazy that when two-step verification has been taken from someone or something, it means that Microsoft can't do anything - which I don't understand? I really have so much information on it that I'm the one who owns it.
I've also been under Live Agent on Xbox's website, they say you have to answer some questions to get your account back, however you don't get it back that way - but they transfer everything from the hacked account to a new one without a gamertag.
i trying to explain to you, that because you had 2 factor on your account no one hacked your account. You either gave your secuirty information out to them and they changed the deails in order for them to change details on the account they would have needed access to your email or the SMS or 2 factor recovery code
Microsoft provides excellent security has they should and have a legal duty too but if people are not careful with there own details then that's what happens
thats on you not Microsoft
Believe it or not, I've been hacked somehow. I wasn't stupid enough to give my security details to anyone or anything like that.
