#Xbox Keeps Undoing "My Home Xbox"

Hey yall, this can either be a simple message or a long one, I don't know what all to add bc I am not really tech litterate, but my husband @sinful goblet is at work rn so he can't fix this.

Our Xbox (the newest black box looking one) keeps undoing the setting "My Home Xbox". While my account is also on the Xbox, it's his that does the "My Home Xbox" as we know only one account can set the device as the home Xbox, and I also have a PC so I don't necessarily need the offline capabilities, while he does. I digress.

We have wifi issues, so alot of the times our wifi will go out and we need to use the offline features. Every 10th wifi issue or so, the Xbox will just say "For this game, you need to be online" and it pops up code (0x803f9008) while telling us next time we go online to set it as the home. Issue is though, we've already done that. I asked him if anyone else could be setting their Xbox as their home using his account and he assured me no, no one else has access to the account.

My issue, is it's doing this on everything nos, down to the blu-ray player, so now we can't even watch tv when the wifi is out.

Has anyone ever had issues with this? Is this a loss cause and we gotta scrap the Xbox and get a new one? Our warranty is expired now as we've had the Xbox for a little over a year now.

  1. Every time the wifi comes back on, he sets it as the home Xbox again. It works for around 10 times of the wifi going out and then this happens agin. Its been hapoening for months now but he hasn't made an attempt to reach out to anyone about it. I know I can't reach out to Microsoft on his behalf since I don't have his log in, so I reached out here. I pressed the series x|s, all I know is it is the newest one that looks like a box. @sinful goblet can give model specifics.
  2. I am unsure how to answer this because I feel like it was answered in 1).
  3. I can't search the code bc where we live the data is weak so without wifi, I am really restricted. Discord works 4/10 times, hence why I tagged the husband because hes in town right now and can hopefully answer questions better than I.

Update everyone. Husband told me to do a hard reset, and now we can't do anything until the wifi comes back on because you need wifi to set it up.

  1. My Xbox is not allowing me to play owned and gamepass games while offline despite being set as my home Xbox.

  2. I have unset and set the Xbox as my home Xbox a couple of times now to try and resolve the issue and it appears to work for a short while before it stops working again.

  3. There is no error code, it just states that I need to be online to play the game and Blu-ray Discs or set the console as my home Xbox.

I don't think the issue is with your home xbox. For a gamebtobwork offline it has to be loaded at least once online on the home xbox before it work offline.

You best bet to to resort your network issues I would use a wired connection
