I am having trouble sharing my gamepass subscription. I have set my account with game pass ultimate as home xbox on my brothers console. He has my games but we tried to play gta and it still says he requires an online subscription. Is there a fix or have I misunderstood and game sharing only shares the games.

Yes as stated in the post that’s exactly what I’ve done but it seems that I don’t have the full benefits of the game pass sharing as in I am not permitted to play games that require an online subscription.

if its asking you to buy a sub thats likley because it is not set correctly.

Alright so what about it can be set incorrectly. Maybe that is the issue but there I don’t see any other options or settings to change anything.

Console 1 Account A sets this console to there home Xbox and account B can play on this console
Console 2 Account A signs into this console with their account and plays

Yeah everything seems to be set fine my brother has my games and can play them without me being signed in. He cannot play games that require online without me being signed in. So what I’ve come to is home Xbox shares only games and not the online gaming portion of game pass.

this is a MASSIVE bug going on where the entitlement to play online is not being shared on home xboxs
heres the steps u need to take:
- Reset the Xbox
- Login to both accounst and set them as the home xbox, but then keep both accounts logged in
- Open all games and apps
- Goto the account with ultimate uncheck home xbox then recheck it (you may need to search for Home xbox in settings)
- Keep the account with ultimate signed in for about 2 hours
