Cloud sync deleted my game progress. Can it be undone?

I've been playing against the storm on Xbox series x for a couple of days, amazing game.

But today when I launched the game an Xbox window about cloud sync popped up. I couldn't finish reading what it was about. The game restarted and all my progress was lost.

Does anyone know if I can restore my game with an older cloud save? And if possible, how?

I tried looking for info at xbox support and on the web but i couldn't find anything useful.
