Hi there! I have an Xbox One + Kinect (500GB). I observed that when automatic console and game updates are unchecked, the Xbox controller properly turns off the console. Recently, when I turned on the console, a console update was available. It prompted me to turn on automatic updates. After the automatic console and game updates are checked, the Xbox controller turns off the console in sleep or standby mode. I have set Shutdown (Energy Saving) to active in power options.
Is this normal behaviour? Shouldn't it shut down instead of sleep? I read that after an update in 2023, both modes can automatically download or install updates when the console is turned off.
I can shut down the console from the power options, but the controller and the power button turn off the console in sleep or standby mode. What happens if I set Sleep (Instant On) to active? Will the turn-off behaviour be the same?
When the console shuts down, the power brick turns amber, but when it goes to sleep, the power brick remains blue. I also hear a sound from the power brick after the console is turned off in sleep mode.
Is there anything I can do to correct the settings?
