Repairing slow hard drive for xbox One S

I’m having trouble with load times on my boot up screen and games sometimes just won’t even load in.

Ive factory reset my console multiple times and nothing seems to work well.

I’ve been told it’s due to the hard drive breaking due to age.

Is there any way i can like repair the hard drive or are there any affordable external hard drive options?
