#Xbox controller malfunction

While playing roblox with mkb, my (xbox series x) controller (was using for sound via corded headphones) randomly shut off, and when i turn them on, cant do anything. None of the buttons respond, and in order to shut it off again i have to take the batteries out or restart the controller. Its synced to my xbox (can turn on remotely) but doesn't appear in accessories, and doesn't sync again (meaning its already connected) ive tried power cycling it and still not responding and literally nobody else has had this issue before, cus nothing in troubleshooting is helping
