I’ve been trying to “revive” my old Xbox one chat headset lately since it’s mic gave up. The reason why is probably because the Mic monitoring slider is turned all the way down and greyed out as well, although i can still hear people fine. Trying out methods like going into Xbox accessories and configuring the volume there doesn’t work as well since it’s also greyed out. What do i do? My controller is also updated to the latest firmware as well.

Already basically explained everything.
so that's 2 headsets that the mic doesn't work? that sounds like a port issue on the controller. if the connection is complete in and secured, then most likely the port has gone bad.
Just one. And it’s the officially distributed chat headset, so it uses the other port. I use another headset, being the one i normally use, and the mic there works fine.
So i don’t really get it why it wouldn’t work for the official chat headset as well. I guess it’s because of age and something inside died.
