I'm on Windows 11, and I did do some digging, and it says the drive is incompatible according to the error code, but that's not possible
also the drive compatibility tool that the xbox supportt website tells me to use doesn't exist
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaand now it's fine
nothing has changed, the app trolled me. how fun
I am so lost, it keeps doing it at random
from the support page = If you see this code on your PC when trying to install a game, it means the drive you're installing to is incompatible and needs to be configured properly before games can be installed on it. Try the solutions in the “Solutions on PC” section below.
again, the solution doesn't exist, aand the error occurs at random. it downloads the gaame, says tthe drivce is incompatible for like a minute, then continues
what do you mean by it does not exist?
the drive compatibility tool the website claims to be under tthe support tab doesn't exist
the soltion does exist i linked it above
The Xbox app's Drive Compatibility Tool was designed to configure external drives attached to your PC so that Xbox games can be installed and played from that drive.
When an incompatible drive is plugged into your PC, a message will appear indicating that the drive is incompatible with the PC and needs to be configured before it can have games installed to it, even if there are existing games on the drive. Note that this situation does not mean the drive is corrupt or needs repair. It only means that the drive must be configured before it can be used with the Xbox app on PC.
This scenario typically happens either when an external drive is used across multiple PCs, or when a PC undergoes a major OS upgrade, such as upgrading from Windows 10 to Windows 11. If a drive is incompatible, it is likely to encounter game install and launch issues.
The Drive Compatibility Tool must manage the existing games and apps on the drive before it can configure the drive back to a compatible state. In rare cases, this process can include migrating or uninstalling games and apps. You'll be informed if this is necessary and can stop the process at any point.
aalright, where's the drive compatibility tool? cause I can't find it where it says it is
You can find the tool in the Xbox app by selecting your gamerpic > Support > Drive Compatibility Tool. Note that the link to the tool will only appear if an incompatible drive is attached.
I'd send you a pic to prove it's not there but I don't have perms
if it isn't showing there then you need to contact support provide that link and explain the tool is not showing even though your getting the error
