So when I first put in my 2tb Seagate external drive it worked as my internal storage, and now it's only formatted as external and I've been so annoyed because I'm limited to constantly moving games around to play the series game.
And I've been so annoyed that I've considered just buying the series x and praying the storage would be somewhat more peaceful to my sanity from moving games so much. But I don't have like $800 CAD laying around to buy a console on a whim.

Nope, so at first I had almost all my series games on the external drive.
Then one day I booted up my console and it didn't allow me to play the series games on it

To play Marvel Rivals, you'll need to transfer it to a storage expansion card or the console's internal storage.
Marvel Rivals as an example but any series optimized game will give the same message if it's on the "storage expansion card"

Bot broke. But basically series x|s games can’t be played from USB drives. The game must be on expansion card or internal.
You can store series x|s games on the USB drives, and you can play last gen games.

I don't get lower than 2tb drives because the few games I enjoy are 70gb-150gb games

Or just get a portable hdd/ssd and swap games that are optimized between portable and internal when u want to play them

I have a drive and I do that but I also have to delete games from time to time or only have one game on the internal at a time
Microsoft is kind of annoying about all the deceptive stuff, the series s has 500gb but you only get to use roughly 300gb

Back then it wasn't categorized as external, it was fully connected to my internal hard drive
I should just give up trying to fix the thing and just wait until I get paid so I can get the eraser sized drive

Honestly if it doesn't work like it says it does I'm just gonna throw the whole thing into a box and toss it into a storage room.
$380 for a console is amazing these days, but $380 for something smaller than a pencil sharpener feels almost criminal.
But if it lets me play Series games on it then I don't really care about dropping the mildly absurd amount.
