#No internet connection (as I am connected to internet)

Everytime i try to log into the xbox app on my pc i am met with "it doesnt look like you are connected to the internet, check again" then it gives me the code 0x800704cf. I have tried many many ways to resolve this problem, I have uninstalled xbox and I have even reset and repaired the app and nothing works. I have not been able to sign into the xbox app for about 3 years now.
