#Series S in 2025

Hey,
I am thinking of buying a series S in 6 months from now, currently on a 1650 PC.
Is it worth it buying the console now as the next gen is around 2027. I'm guessing games will not be playable on series S and X once next gen comes as it won't be released for the console unless we can run anything from gamepass on current gen consoles

If this is the case the console will only last me about 1.5-2 years. If so will there be another budget console like series S of this gen in the next one?
Also how are xbox console store discounts compared to steam?
