#Urgent help needed. Xbox 1S suddenly made loud whirring sound with 2 red lights. Won't run discs now

Hey everyone, posting on behalf of my friend. Last night his Xbox 1S suddenly made a loud whirring noise although it was turned off with 2 red lights on the back, since then whenever he tries to run disc games it just sticks on the opening screen and won't progress with the games but installed games run perfectly fine. The Xbox also makes no beeping noise when it turns on/off and ejecting discs. Any help is appreciated. Thank you
