Since about mid 2024, my Xbox has had trouble reading discs. When I insert a game into it, the Xbox takes it and makes the sounds like as if it's reading the disc, but nothing happens. It started shortly after my copy of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 got stuck, yes I did eventually manage to get it out. If anyone has some way to help, I would greatly appreciate it...

@gusty lion Thanks for posting! Please remember, support here is volunteer-based and not official. Be patient after posting, and don’t spam or ask in other channels.

To help us help you, make sure to answer:
- What did you try to do and what happened? (Be specific—mention your Xbox model, PC version, Insider ring, or anything relevant.)

- Have you searched the error code or for similar problems? (Tell us what you found.)
If you don’t answer these, you might not get a response.
There are no errors codes for my problem.
I've tried holding the disc and letting it spin for a couple seconds while the Xbox is taking it because that sometimes works.
I've tried searching online for an answer, but there's somehow nobody that has the same issue as me...
well u could try another xbox console and see if ur discs are working.
I have no other working Xbox consoles that take discs
My sister has an all digital Xbox One S
And my original Xbox died a year or so ago
well only thing i can think of is to take it to a gameshop and get it repaired or replace the console tbh
Darn, sucks that those are the only options left...
especially since it sounds like ur disc drive and/or disc reader is dying
If I decide to replace it I'll probably try to get a Series S/X
Although I'll probably wait it out until the rest of the console kicks the bucked
That way it's actually worth it and necessary
guess u go digital til then
Yup, and I can't play any of my games that I own physically...
Including Minecraft Xbox One Edition and Minecraft Story Mode
Wait a minute, if I were to swap the disc drives of my two xboxs, theoretically it could possibly be able to read discs again
My old Xbox didn't have a problem with reading discs
