@rough schooner Thanks for posting! Please remember, support here is volunteer-based and not official. Be patient after posting, and don’t spam or ask in other channels.
If your issue is about accounts, billing, contact Xbox Support directly.
If your issue is related to an Enforcement action, no one here can help.
To help us help you, make sure to answer:
- What did you try to do and what happened? (Be specific—mention your Xbox model, PC version, Insider ring, or anything relevant.)
- **What have you tried to do to fix it already? **(List everything you’ve done to fix it.)
- Have you searched the error code or for similar problems? (Tell us what you found.)
If you don’t answer these, you might not get a response.
try a different socket
Try a different power cable
Send the console for repair
(https://support.xbox.com/en-GB/help/hardware-network/console/console-wont-power-on)
When I plug it in fully and click the button to turn it on it doesn't work but when I unplug it all and wait 3 mins and plug it all back in it works. Do you think I should send it to Xbox still?
If you reset it and it now works all good if you follow the steps above and isn't working then you need to get it repaired
How do I reset it?
you said you reset it and its now working so I going to say there is no issue here. If its still not working and you followed those steps above you need to request a repair all this is on the link i sent you.
I reset means you unpluged everything waited and pluged it back on
Oh ok
Do you think I should change the PSU out?
thats on you but self repair can not be discussed here and opening the console voids any warranty or support from Microsoft
Ohr ok
So if I open it Microsoft won't help me to fix it?
correct you need to follow the steps given. We have advised what we can you need to read the link and follow the steps
My warranty has ended but can I get a tech shop to fix it?
Microsoft still repair the console out of warranty for a fee again all this is on the link it takes you though the process. As to taking it too a tech shop thats up to you.
Ok
I would like to know a few things about this, since according to the official documentation provided by Microsoft, opening the console does not invalidate its warranty. They also offer an official manual, since consumer protection laws exist in the vast majority of countries where they operate.

"Will performing this self-repair affect my console’s active warranty?
No. Self-repair with Microsoft replacement components does not affect Microsoft’s Limited Hardware Warranty. However, any damage that is caused to the hardware, device, or replacement component will not be covered under Microsoft’s Limited Hardware Warranty."
Are the rules up to date with Microsoft's global regulations or is it a Discord-specific restriction? So I can find out if I should escalate this through official forms.
We don't allow discussion of it in here.
Okay, I'll proceed by other means, I'll keep this in mind for future regulatory conflicts.
If you attempt self repair, then that's all on you.
We don't want people taking advice from random people in here and coming back mad about it 😅
We aren't official support and make that super clear, but yk how peeps can be :)
I understand this is for protectionism and to avoid misunderstandings, which is why I always link official information directly from the company.
