I use an external hard drive on my series x so that I can download more games, but I don’t play as many games these days & I wanted to use my hard drive to store my captures so I can record up to 10 minute clips mc but it says my hard drive is already the designated location for downloads.

I was wondering if it was possible to reset or clear my hard drive in order for my Xbox to recognise it as empty so I can store my captures on it instead? It’d save me money from having to buy a new hard drive.

Thanks for any help.

You can't format it as a media drive directly on a console, you'll have to go back to a PC or some other device that can format it as a clean NTFS drive.
