I cannot get my xbox one wireless controller to pair to my computer. Im trying to use it to play games on steam, but it wont connect to my computer. i tried charging the batteries but the pairing doesnt seem to work

from what ive been told and looked up there is a button on the back near the charing port that you hold, then the xbox light starts flashing then i can connect to bluetooth

but i press and hold that button and nothing happens

just because its a wireless controller does not mean it supports bluetooth what xbox controller do you have?

the top controller does not have Bluetooth and as a old style xbox one controller the bottom controller does have bluetooth

the controller needs to support bluetooth in order to connect to bluetooth. You would need to buy the windows wireless adapter or use a USB data cable,

can a controller be connected to a phone?

that way i could go to the store and test them to see if they are bluetooth before buying

FYI. You can use your current controller wired, just connect with data USB cable.

If you have the official Xbox cable, that’s a power and data cable.

I said data cable because people don’t know that some cables can be power only or vise versa

i got it 2nd hand so all i have is the controller
