Xbox One wired headphones not working

They're plugged into the controller but they're aren't working the sound is still coming from the tv, I've messed around with settings but nothing seems to be working

I plugged them in and the sound was still coming from the tv it's on xbox one I'm pretty sure the console is like 6 months old

I've tried messing with the audio settings and I googled the correct settings to use but it's still nothing, it's not the headphones I use them on my tv all the time

Yea it just said to change the audio settings which I tried

what headset are you using and how are you connecting them?

There Earphones sorry I should've said that but I plug them into the bottom of the controller

they wont support game sound. You want a xbox gaming headset
