How can I connect my PC and Xbox Series S via HDMI?

I want to play my console's games in my pc rather than my tv, but I'm having trouble setting it up, help pls I just need someone to guide me through the process

1.- I tried connecting my Xbox Series S to my laptop (Windows 11 Home Single Language 24H2) via HDMI, I've tried turning off both devices before connecting them, but I've otherwise been kinda lost in the process and I'm pretty sure that I don't know what I'm doing

As for the other 2... it's not quite an error, rather I just need help with something that I couldn't do or find the answer to myself

I think you can't connect console to HDMI port on laptop directly. It's not an input port, only output. But you can buy a capture card and achieve what you want or plug Series S directly into monitor if you have one.

Hey, I've finally gotten to try out your advice (thank you btw) and I'm really close but I get seemingly stuck in one part

I'm pretty sure it's the part that asks me "Who's playing?" in the console

My pc xbox account is mine and the console belongs to my sister and I play Marvel Rivals in her account, I just now logged in my account as well

So I assume that creates the problem

Progress is tired to the account yes, Just sign in with the account you want to use it does not matter.
