#Unauthorized change of Activision ID. COD

Today I woke up and had an email notification that my Activision account had been linked to Steam, so I checked my account and saw that they had also changed my ID.
To my surprise, to change my ID they ask me for a code by email, which the person who got into my account did not ask for, nor to link it to Steam.

Could someone give me some information about this? Their support is so automated and the intrusion was so brief that they do not consider it an intrusion, they have not been able to give me a log of IP, accesses, access attempts, etc.

I have tried to change my Activision ID (which is public in the game) without success since apparently I only had one attempt and the intruder used it. Logically I do not want to play with someone else's name, which may also have a bad reputation.

I also don't know if COD has done anything negative to me, such as trading, getting banned, reporting, etc. (my email doesn't show anything, I just know it was linked to Steam).
My account is still linked to my Xbox and Blizzard account.

I don't have any special affection for the account (used only to play the COD campaign), but I'm quite worried that they have security issues... just in case I've already activated two-factor authentication.

Any information provided on this matter would be helpful.

@spiral chasm Thanks for posting! Please remember, support here is volunteer-based and not official. Be patient after posting, and don’t spam or ask in other channels.
If your issue is about accounts, billing, contact Xbox Support directly.
If your issue is related to an Enforcement action, no one here can help.

To help us help you, make sure to answer:

  • What did you try to do and what happened? (Be specific—mention your Xbox model, PC version, Insider ring, or anything relevant.)
  • **What have you tried to do to fix it already? **(List everything you’ve done to fix it.)
  • Have you searched the error code or for similar problems? (Tell us what you found.)

If you don’t answer these, you might not get a response.

no one here can view your account and tell you what happened or what didnt happen

#

However what we can say is how secruity workes

#

2 factor authentication is your friend this would be the code that was sent to your email. It seems from what your saying that someone did try to get into your account but failed because of 2 factor.

This is is normal across the globe every day there is billions of attempts to get into accounts that fail because of 2 factor

#

If you didn't use 2 factor and someone signed in and changed the account details and enabled it then that's on you.

#

in any case you need to work with support and go with what they say. In any case its always a good idea to change your passwords
