Don't switch to other regions, it's against ToS. Select the country you live in.

If Rewards is not available in your region then you don't access it. You wait and see if they make it available in your region in the future.

Changing your region to a location where you don't live violates Terms of Service and they take Rewards fraud very seriously.
No, there isn't a workaround.

Are you sure you're not looking at your gamerscore?

You don't spend those. That's not rewards.
That's just a score to show achievements you've earned to compare with friends and show off.
