@winged oyster Thanks for posting! Please remember, support here is volunteer-based and not official. Be patient after posting, and don’t spam or ask in other channels.
If your issue is about accounts, billing, contact Xbox Support directly.
If your issue is related to an Enforcement action, no one here can help.
To help us help you, make sure to answer:
- What did you try to do and what happened? (Be specific—mention your Xbox model, PC version, Insider ring, or anything relevant.)
- **What have you tried to do to fix it already? **(List everything you’ve done to fix it.)
- Have you searched the error code or for similar problems? (Tell us what you found.)
If you don’t answer these, you might not get a response.
I also get no error code or pop up when the console turns on again and I’m using a series x that’s abt 3 years old
Check the steps provided here: https://support.xbox.com/help/hardware-network/console/console-turns-off-unexpectedly
i have tried all of these before and it doesnt help my console shuts off abt an 1 1/2 hours after i first turn it on
Is your console getting power through any kind of surge protector, extension cord or power strip? It's recommended to plug it into the wall directly. Trying a different cable may also help
im using a power strip
it also only crashes on my main game which is bo6
and it has crashed on star wars outlaws
The recommendation to plug it directly in to the wall is bad. I strongly recommend never plugging electronics directly in to the wall.
Just try a different power strip to ensure that yours isn’t broken / having a bad connection that gets interrupted
Oh, how come it's bad? It's what it says in the official link above, so I thought they knew what they were talking about.
It can be catastrophic.
They have it in there no doubt for some sort of weird legal reason.
It is not safe and I will never recommend it.
Could it be rendering
It take the 4k rendering and since it’s lowering to. 1080p
It uses power to adjust
That won't make a difference. Even with a 1080p output the games are still being rendered in 4k, they'll be downsampled
But it’s require power to down render them
You’re not running out of power because of the Xbox working hard
The fan feels like warm but not over 100 degrees F
And it only happens on bo6 and Star Wars outlaws
A faulty power cable outlet is 90% likely
If it was shutting down due to heat it would tell you that when it starts up
But it run bo4 easily
How do I fix
Try a different outlet
Try different cables and outlets as mentioned earlier
Like a different plug on the strip
Cause my dad also uses this strip and his is fine
Yeah give it a try
That would be one step in troubleshooting yes
If that doesn’t work then you need to try a different cable
If that doesn’t work you need to try a different outlet
ive tried all 3 of them and nothing worked
and it has been crashing on multiple games
Remove all external storage devices and do a factory reset
Try “keep” first
my dads telling me it wont do a thing
Ok
It would be shocking to buy a new console before attempting one of the most basic troubleshooting steps
this has happened to me before
then it stopped for a bit
and i reset my console back then
and it didnt work
Ok
I partially think it might be heat
Because there’s a lot of dust inside my console
If it was heat then there would be a full screen warning message when you turned the console back on.
but my xbox is super dusty on the inside could that be an issue
