So tl;dr
Around 2018 I bought a used xbox one, formatted and set it up and I had access to 3 games that I had never bought, I played them ofc and jump forward to today
I passed this one to my brother as I bought a series console and he now wants to sell it, so I went on google to see if the os let in any way filter which games had which license (bought by logged account, gold licensed game etc) and found a post from 2013 regarding a “license transfer” option under settings -> account -> billing, but upon checking I cannot find this option anywhere, has it been removed or was it never a thing?

@golden eagle Thanks for posting! Please remember, support here is volunteer-based and not official. Be patient after posting, and don’t spam or ask in other channels.
If your issue is about accounts, billing, contact Xbox Support directly.
If your issue is related to an Enforcement action, no one here can help.
To help us help you, make sure to answer:
- What did you try to do and what happened? (Be specific—mention your Xbox model, PC version, Insider ring, or anything relevant.)
- **What have you tried to do to fix it already? **(List everything you’ve done to fix it.)
- Have you searched the error code or for similar problems? (Tell us what you found.)
If you don’t answer these, you might not get a response.
Also probably important to note, yes I saw posts also talking about this scenario possibly being a forgotten account by the previous owner with the Xbox set as their home console explaining the access, but as I mentioned I set this console up fresh and as im going through settings right now there’s no other accounts than mine or my brothers to explain this situation, unless somehow the home console remains assigned regardless if the account is stored onto the console
just factory reset the console
Only the full factory reset (deleting games and apps) will reset the Home Console links
License transfer was only an Xbox 360 concept.
