I'm not absolutely sure, but I don't think you can access the internal hard drive using a PC. If it was an external, you could just plug it into a USB port, but the internal, I don't think so.
Well thats very sad
That means i can never access old clips?
Since xbox deleted all the online ones
Like I said, I'm not really sure, but I've never seen this come up before.
What about game files i had a minecraft world on there that i really want to access
Your save files including your minecraft worlds are all stored on your account. They should still be there.
The clips are gone though, I don't think you'll be able to recover those, since they are stored locally
Yeah, but as I said, you can't connect an XBox internal to a computer. They aren't compatible.
I don't think an XBox One HDD is compatible with an XBox Series X/S. But again, I'm not totally sure.
It's the same for all consoles. It's a closed file system for a reason, to prevent cheating, piracy etc.
Xvs xvd uwa files
That will still wipe your files, the clips are gone.
Your games, save files and minecraft worlds are still there, stored in your account
sad thanks for the help and it seems your words are true since i opened one of the files and it seems to be encrypted
How do i get that
For the record i currently do not have a xbox so could i get it on the laptop
Sign in on any xbox console and it's there automatically, there's no way to get it on a computer, except for play anywhere titles
And also i bought minecraft on the xbox but it says i dont own it on the microsoft store is that supposed to happen?
Is minecraft a playanywhere title
Yes minecraft is not a play anywhere title, so the PC Version needs to be purchased separately
And it doesn't share saves with the console version, you can only transfer them with realms which still requires access to an Xbox console if you want to recover them
Welp thanks for the help
Do u know how to format it so i can atleast use it as extra storage
And if i were to use this hdd as a external on a future console would i need to install that consoles operating system on it? (Example series s)
Or could i just format it and just plop it in
You can't use an XBox One internal for anything but an XBox One. Internals don't work as externals, afaik. I'm pretty sure I've seen them out of the console before and they didn't even have a USB connection to hook them up as an external.
