Twice now I've come to start up my Series S console and found that it can't get any kind of internet connection. What makes this a little strange is that "Network Test" says it is all connected to the internet just fine, but it also obviously is not because it doesn't have an IP address and online features such as the store don't work. The store actually says "you need to go online for this", and OK yes I do... I just don't know why I can't.
What I've tried so far to fix this is just restarting the console. The first time I had the problem it took two restarts before I could use a network connection. The second time I had the problem, only a single restart was needed. As such it's not a huge problem, but if there's any reason why this would be happening I'd like to know. I might try resetting the console next time.
For the record, my home internet is low speed ADSL so I am sharing my phone's connection via a Mac Mini and a network switch. I am using a wired connection between the Xbox and the Switch, and a wired connection between the switch and the Mac Mini. The iPhone is using USB tethering. Other devices on the same network can connect just fine.
