#Disc not Working

Does anyone know a strategy to make it not take forever for the disc to read, I insert my disc and it doesn’t seem to work and it gives me the you don’t own this game, then I turn off and unplug my Xbox and it works. Who knows a way to make it a way for me not needing to unplug the Xbox and also why does it always say it’s updating or downloading when I insert it although I’ve played the game before #help
